To-Do Feature Spotlight



Overview

  • Get stuck into your work, reassured that your entire day is right here on one page.
  • To-Do holds back the world so you can focus on completing important work rather than busy work.
  • All your different streams of work will coalesce here around when you said you wanted to do them, and the outcomes they serve. Be it
    • email,
    • events,
    • actions,
    • notes
    • or slack DMs,
    • they are all waiting ready for you here in a format-less paradise of productivity.
  • The To-Do Page is the perfect place to reply to emails. Instead of getting into games of emails tag, if someone replies quickly to your message, you don't see it, it waits patiently for your consideration in your Inbox, allowing you to maintain your focus.

Drag and Drop and Editing Things

  • Everything on To-Do is designed for dragging and dropping, so if you don't like where something is, drop it wear it should be.
  • Just completed a task, but now your waiting for a reply, drop it over on "waiting". Just received a call from your boss to drop everything and focus on X project, drag and drop what is now today's clutter to the right time to pick it back up eg tomorrow or ASAP etc.
  • Quick note, with events, you can only drag the events you are the owner of. You can also edit records directly on the line, by updating When you want to do it, or The Outcome is serves.

Sorts and Filters

  • To-Do is the perfect place to work from, setting up your day by splitting the things you want to do into time specific things (kind of like a calendar) and day specific things (kind of like a To-Do List).
  • You will see everything is sorted by when you want to do it, and the outcome it serves, this makes sure that To-Dos from the same outcomes are co-located.
  • The sort order is connected back to your outcome list, so your highest priorities there will flow over seamlessly the top of your To-Do list.
  • Need to zoom in? Use the 'Type' and 'Outcome' filters to focus in on what matters right now.
  • Need to zoom out? Click the 'everything' button and scan all the To-Dos connected to your account. Using the filters whilst on this view can be particularly handy.

Pressing Our Buttons

  • The basics
    • Hover over a record to see more info.
    • Complete and Archive anything by clicking the box.
    • If you need dive a little deeper open the 'Universal Record' for anything by clicking it. From here you can
      • reply directly to emails,
      • create documents,
      • manage events,
      • request actions from your collaborators
      • or look at the timeline of the record.
      • See the Feature Spotlight on the Universal Record to understand it's functionality in more detail.
    • The 'Today' view is the default. Other Windows of time include
    • Date specific date eg next Wednesday,
    • Specific Time period eg next week,
    • Expressions of time eg ASAP, Soon, or When Hell Freezes over. This helps avoid setting due dates that aren't real and that end up clogging up your To-Do list every day.
  • 'TBC' is where things our AI time keeper is not sure about when you meant will go. Pro-Tip keep this clean.
  • 'Overdue' is anything that goes past it's due date will end up in the Overdue window.
